How we handle your information
Build Resilience International Foundation collects the minimum information needed to review speaker applications and respond to partnership inquiries. This notice explains what we hold and how it is protected.
What we collect
When you apply to speak, we collect your name, email address, country, time zone, organization and title, biography, session proposal details, an optional sample link, and any accessibility or communication accommodations you choose to share. We also record the date of submission.
Why we collect it
We use your information to review your application, contact you about it, plan accessible sessions, and maintain records of the programme. If you separately opt in to promotional emails, we use your email address to share BRIF news and Community Hub updates.
Who can see it
Applications, internal notes and accessibility details are visible only to authorised BRIF administrators with a legitimate need. They are never shown on public pages. Your name, biography, session details and optional photo appear publicly only if your application is confirmed and you give explicit permission to be published.
What we publish
The public speaker directory shows only approved profiles that have publication consent. It never includes email addresses, accommodation requests, internal notes, or other contact details.
Sensitive information
We do not ask for disability diagnoses, medical records or other private health information, and we ask applicants not to include it. If you share accommodation needs, we treat them as confidential and use them only to arrange access.
How long we keep it
We keep application records for as long as needed to administer the event and the Community Hub programme, and then delete or anonymise them. You can ask us to delete your application at any time.
Your choices
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, withdraw consent to be contacted, or withdraw permission for your public speaker profile. Promotional emails are optional and every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
Partnership inquiries
Inquiry details are visible only to authorised BRIF administrators and are used to respond to your message and manage our partnership conversations.
